In 2010 the IT Project Manager consultant called Hannes Lindbeck originally was from Hassleholm, Sweden moved to Singapore with the hope to stay there for the rest of his life. He loved living in Asia and worked on several projects for multinational corporations. On a long weekend, the man went to Bali with friends. He came across a beautiful woman who immediately attracted his attention by accident. Hannes visited her two years later, but it wasn’t the best time to do so. It was unfortunate that she wasn’t married at the moment. However, Hannes was sure to obtain her contact details to be able to contact her in the future.

In 2013, three years following their first encounter in Bali, the woman was in contact, and they began chats and conversations via phone. Her name was Stani, and she was from Mallorca. The stand was willing to meet for an espresso in Mallorca, and Hannes was set for a flight. As the departure date got more and closer, Hannes could reach an agreement for the entire day. When he finally arrived, it was evident that something was happening, and the day grew to four hours.

Stand, who enjoyed a long time in the hospitality industry in some of the best hotels on the island, was the one to welcome Hannes into the islands, and they stayed in Campos for a whole year. Since the contract on the island was restricted, the opportunity arose to travel into Sweden, and Stani was keen to experience a Swedish winter. Hannes tried to describe how dark and cold Sweden was throughout the year; however, Stani stated that she wasn’t in awe of winter as an Austrian. As of the beginning of the year, the couple drove their small Renault Clio up to the south of Sweden to settle in Sweden.

After four weeks of an average of 4 hours of sun, realization struck them. Stand began crying, “Where is the sun? I’ve not had a glimpse of the sun since leaving Mallorca,” so they decided to try Mallorca another go. They finally discovered a home in Algaida. They wanted to manage their own business, and Hannes established an IT consulting firm in Spain. Since the beginning, Hannes managed to distribute projects, utilizing offshore sources from India and central Europe. The bridge between these resources has been a critical aspect of Hannes’s work.

Since 2015, his work has been focused on upgrading and replacing technology in various countries around the world. It is very diverse and challenging, and Hannes is a fan of simultaneously working with people of vastly diverse backgrounds. For instance, this week, Hannes worked with individuals located in Canada, the USA, Korea, Japan, and Poland, to name a few.

Hannes is fortunate to have a job with his company in Sweden as well as several Swedish clients have permitted Hannes to work from his house in Algaida.

Both of them are foodies who love to try different restaurants and cuisines. Early in their relationship, they discussed creating a food-related business. Still, they did not want to open an establishment.

The idea was first conceived after lockdown when a tiny takeaway food establishment appeared on the market at the center in the town of Algaida. Hannes and Stani purchased the establishment. The initial few months were difficult. However, they’ve created a well-liked model by two main types of customers, the traditional and the healthier. The shop caters to both. “Yes, we offer traditional Mallorcan takeaway meals like paellas and pica. We also have gluten-free and vegan dishes each day. This spring, we have frozen meals available, and you can come to the store and purchase as many portions as you like and stock up your freezer with nutritious homecooked food. We’ve received inquiries from families who require an alternative to the fast-food chain, and those who do not have time to cook healthy meals during working hours, and others who do not have time to cook, so with this service you can enjoy a wide selection with a low cost.” So, as a Swede, I decided to inquire with Hannes what he would like to know. Will you be offering Swedish meatballs available on the menu? He smiles and says, “We have meatballs before on our menu, and our customers enjoyed them.”
